Great machine capable of proceesing any logs. Has yet to be beaten. Copes with knotty beach and oak no problem.
Enjoy splitting logs with axe, but not getting any younger. After 3 hours working with Mega Split Pro not tired and sore muscles.
– log lift to save lifting heavy rings (or bending to split on verticle splitter)
– log lift in horizontal position acts as table for logs waiting to be processed or part splits put to side
– cradle to collect logs to prevent need to pick off floor
– movable back stop to cut down cycle time when splitting shorter logs
– high capacity pump achieves fast cycle time despite large ram
All in all a great machine. Well designed. Would recommend to anyone processing larger quantity of logs.

This was a bit of an impulse buy after a back injury, and its been great. However…Had to wait over a week for delivery though, and it arrived without the service kit I ordered. Got it sent after calling them but should have came with it in the first place. 5 stars for the splitter, but 3 stars for these problems.

Massive splitter with so much power. Blasts through anything we’ve tried its actually quite funny to see some of the sizes of logs we’ve split with ours. Quite heavy to lug around, but also reassuring that its so heavy as its built so well.

Got to say – the machine was bigger than I expected, with a massive ram on the thing, but it absolutely does make incredibly light work of the logs, even things that other splitters probably wouldn’t look at. No problems there.
Regarding the delviery though, I asked for kerbside delivery, but when the courier driver arrived he said it wasn’t marked down as that, and as such he didn’t have a tail lift on that vehicle so I was a bit stuck. MDL tried to get it sorted when I called, but said the courier would need to redeliver the next day on a different van, and I needed the splitter for a job that weekend. Ended up having to get it delivered to a local farm a few miles away and tow it back which I didn’t exactly want. I have to be fair, as the situation wasn’t quite perfect, but we got there in the end. Wish I could give 5 stars, because the machine deserves it, but the transport situation was a little disappointing.

Very impressed with performance on my machine. Went for a demo and knew it would be perfect for what I wanted. Well constructed and the beam and ram are probably over engineered. Only thing I would rate negatively would be the noise of the diesel engine, so have to rate 4 star instead of a perfect 5. Got the demo with the petrol engine and perhaps should have ordered that one but hey ho

Wanted a splitter for a while, got a petrol engine 37t with the hydraulic table and so glad. Been great investment for me (gardener/handyman). Use it for my own logs and its fast I can get through a trailer full rapid. Only issue was the first battery went dud after a few weeks, but got it replaced and its been fine. Wasn’t exactly cheap but for me its been worth it.

Went for the 37 ton model with the table that lifts up. Too old to be doing heavy lifting so I find the table is the best thing ever. Keeps me and my brother going with logs. Managed to lose the transport pins for the tray almost straight away (oops), but got some spares sent and they didn’t even charge me which was nice!

Staff genuinely helpful, arranged a demonstration on their site (I brought some huge hardwood logs to make sure it was) and had a tour of the workshop. Loaded on my trailer and even strapped it down for me. Nice guys to deal with.

Got the machine last week and used it today. Lots of good points on it like the lifting table making things much easy to manage, and the slide on splitter blade that can cut logs into 4 pieces, but just thought I’d let people know that it’s really big, and heavy to manoeuvre so bear this in mind. I’m in my 70s and it’s not exactly light, so it can be a struggle for me. Had a scuff on the petrol tank I think from delivery, but no big deal. They offered to send me another tank, but its not bad enough to bother me. All in all, its excellent at splitting, but I just wish it was lighter but I guess you can’t have everything.

Well spec’d (I got a 4-way and a 6-way head as extras), and built very strong indeed. My friend had a go and thought he’d try an ‘impossible’ log (elm?) that he couldn’t split with his axe, but it managed absolutely no problem. I would recommend the machine without hesitation. It seems to have endless power no matter what goes into it.

Quite a monster of a machine. Can tell it’s built to last as it looks bombproof. I’ve put a fair bit through it, and it’s not struggled one bit even with some logs my old splitter wouldn’t touch. The cylinder is massive compared to my last splitter, and it’s obviously doing the business. Totally recommend it.

Very impressive power. Splits logs that I wouldn’t have thought it would, and just keeps going. Thought the team there at their office were great. I needed some extra parts modified to fit my weird quad tow hitch and they sorted that too.

Actually the best thing I’ve bought for ages. Bigger than I expected, but so happy and can recommend to anyone in the business of splitting logs. Probably used it for 20-30 hours now, and not one thing it hasn’t gone through like butter. Totally immense for power. I put a different handle on mine so I can use with one hand, not sure if thats a bit naughty but works better for me.

Don’t normally do reviews but the team at MDL deserve my feedback on this. Been fantastic since day one, and even though I must have pestered them for about a month before finally making the purchase, they were so helpful and I managed to speak to one of their engineers who actually knew what they were talking about which was so refreshing. Amazing piece of kit. Having used a splitter I made myself that was 20ish tonnes strength, the MDL mega splitter makes mine seem so weak. It has not been stopped yet even with the most knottiest 24” wide oak. The most it has done is slow down a bit. Unbelievable. Worth every penny and on a VAT free deal it makes it such a bargain. We bought one on a similar deal, can’t fault it.
